hi!
Hi and welcome to my substack!
I’m excited to use this as my platform to share my thoughts, experiences, and opinions (which may or may not be interesting to others) revolving around the genre of conservation and the environment.
My career is in conservation, and I just finished my master’s degree in marsh bird ecology and coastal restoration. However, I won’t be writing specifically about my research, but more generally conservation issues that I believe are important, lessons learned and experiences from being in this career field, and just fun stories! Recently, I have had renewed commitment to living a more sustainable life and I hope to share simple, tangible ways that we can all make this a healthier and more sustainable planet.
I’ve always had the writing bug. Some of you may remember my middle school blog, which thankfully, has been deleted from the internet. My childhood journals are also very entertaining, complete with vivid illustrations. I’ve been wanting to hear other people’s thoughts, opinions, and shared or contradicting experiences. I hope this forum allows me to spark conversation and connect more with fellow nature lovers and environmental activists!
I’m not here to impart any grandiose wisdom -- I will share a lot of pretty pictures, funny stories, and marshy, swampy adventures. If any of this sparks any interest in you, you can sign up below to receive emails when I share new posts. I don’t fully know what I’m getting into, so you’ll have to wait and find out 😊
Peace, love, and wetlands,
Aylett
